TUCSON, AZ (USA): Mission Team Sees 470 People at Inauguration Service

By tat01 - Posted on 01 October 2012

After several weeks of praying, reaching out, and trusting God, the Tucson Mission Team (Arizona, USA) finally celebrated their inauguration service today. The team’s twenty-five disciples had been asking God to bring enough visitors to fill two hundred and fifty seats at this event. Amazingly, the church had the great joy of seeing four hundred and seventy people attend church this morning.

While the mission team has certainly been active in sharing their faith since they first arrived in Tucson, this week has been a particularly exciting week filled with bold evangelism and training. On Wednesday night Marco, an evangelist for the Los Angeles church, taught an Evangelism class to inspire the disciples to continue reaching out. On Friday and Saturday over one hundred other brothers and sisters from California (USA) and Arizona came down to Tucson to assist in the effort. Since Friday morning, the disciples collectively passed out a few thousand invitation cards to university students, neighbors, and by-passers. The mission team also prepared for the event with worship practice. Brian Craig, Worship Ministry leader for the Los Angeles Church, came down for the weekend to help train the Tucson worship team and direct the songs during the inaugural service.

The brand new Tucson Church of Christ along with Rob and Pam Skinner, evangelist couple for the church, stood in awe today at the massive crowd. After the service broke out, the church hosted a free lunch for their four hundred and forty guests. The fellowship lasted for two hours and many Bible studies were set up. Please be praying for the Tuscon Church as they put their next goal before God: to see their membership increase to one hundred by this time next year.
