LUBBOCK, TEXAS. DOUBLED IN SIZE, AND PLANNING FOR FULL TIME LEADERSHIP
Lubbock, Texas...
Good things are happening in Lubbock. The church has grown from 13 to 30 in the last 18 months, and the congregation is now planning on adding full-time leadership next year. Todd Asaad, lead evangelist of our Dallas Ft Worth church, spoke to HotNews:
It is with great joy to be able to announce this week the planting of full time ministers in Lubbock, Texas in 2014. Roddy and Mary Oaks will be moving to Dallas at the end of the year to begin a 18 month training to lead the Lubbock church. They will continue to work with the church from Dallas, train for the 18 months and then move back to Lubbock in the Summer of 2014. We would ask you to please put this before your church so they can pray and to solicit those who may want to be a part of this ministry. (Photo: Roddy, Mary, and kids)
Roddy and Mary were both baptized in June of 1991 in Hawaii. Mary grew up in Hawaii and was baptized in the Campus ministry while working to get her degree in International Business. Roddy was in the Air Force, stationed in Hawaii. Roddy and Mary met a few weeks after being baptized and began dating in 1992. In 1994, they were part of the mission team to Guam where they were married and had both of their children; Tyler (13) and Hannah (9). In 2003, they moved back to Texas to be near Roddy’s mother who was battling cancer. In 2004 they began leading the Lubbock Church while working full time jobs. The Lubbock church stayed at about 13 disciples for several years but God has grown the church to 30 faithful and fired up disciples in the last 18 months.
