Los Angeles: Brother Baptized before Cancer Takes His Life

By tat01 - Posted on 12 July 2012

On June 21st, Eddie Thompson was laying in a Los Angeles hospital surrounded by 20 medical staff, 20 family members, and 8 disciples who were singing songs and sharing scriptures.  Eddie, who had been suffering from cancer for some time now, was about to pass on from this life...  But praise be to God, that on this joyful afternoon, amisdt so many witnesses, Eddie was baptized at the hospital and added to the church.

On June 16th, Eddie's doctors told him the dire news from their final test results. Eddie responded with, "Don't be sorry for me. What is bad news to you is good news to me." Eddie requested that a "Jesus Party" be held and invited everyone to bring their bibles.  He even invited his family to come to church and worship with the disciples.  Eddie's faith has also impacted the hospital staff (some of whom asked questions about baptisms) and his wife, Theresa (who will baptized soon, if not already).
