BRAZIL: Brasilia Celebrates 10th Anniversary

In August of 2009, the International Church of Christ in Brasilia (Brazil's capital city) celebrated its 10th anniversary! From the 8 missionaries that left Belo Horizonte and Sao Paulo, today we are 52 disciples committed to knowing God and making him known in this city! Click HERE for videos of the day.
 
Last month, we had a party to celebrate that important date. The desire we had was simply to rejoice and remember that, though more things could have happened during that period, God moved among us in powerful ways and has given us energy and strength to dream again. With us were the brother and sister who lead the mission in 1999--Jorge Moises and Ana Cristina, as well as Alexandre and Keli, who served the church for the greater part of these 10 years. (Jorge and Ana Cristina Bittencourt now lead the church there, though they work full time in government jobs).
 
One of the most touching moments of the celebration was the thanks given to the church in Belo Horizonte, that dreamed of the church in the city of Brasilia and, through their prayers and financial sacrifice, became a powerful instrument in God's hands to bring the gospel the this city.
 
God blessed our party with the presence of more than 110 people, many of whom had been members of the church in the past. We could remember how God touched the life of each one there through his grace and the fellowship of the brothers and sisters and renew our dreams of saving many people that God has in this city.
 
We ended our party with a delicious cookout and with a clown presentation for the children, who also rejoiced in their way for being a part of this wonderful family.
