As mentioned in the previous entry, Moses’ relationship with God enabled him to be the kind of leader he was. This entry will focus in on Moses’ FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD. May we all strive for that in our lifetime.
Nosheen Rasheed
Nosheen Rasheed and her husband Rasheed Masih at their wedding
Nosheen Rasheed was invited for a women's day through one visitor in the year 2000, but at that time she was studying in university doing her bachelor's degree. She was very shy and never went out of her house alone even for the university. As a young Pakistani woman, she always needed someone to accompany her whenever she left the house. Her study schedule was very tight and she was not able to come for the meetings. She was always scared to talk to people and also to travel on local vans and buses because of men teasing women a lot.
After 16 years of prayer...
Eph 3 vs 20 ,21 " Now Glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infintely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen."
The Durban Church of Christ, in Kwa-zulu Natal South Africa, started 2008 with a Faith Jubilee on the weekend of the 11 - 13th January. We started the weekend with a fast and then a Jericho prayer march around our venue. Saturday morning was prayer on the beach followed by preaching and teaching from the book of Joshua. The theme was " Be strong and courageous"!
Rawalpindi, Pakistan church grows through heroic efforts
Nousheen and Shazia baptizing Saba (with her mother looking on) into Christ in Rawalpindi, Pakistan
Pakistan has been called by CNN "the most dangerous country in the world". Just a few weeks ago the world mourned as Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi. Bomb blasts and suicide bombings, kidnappings and riots are a daily occurence in major cities. Inside that nation there are growing churches of disciples in Lahore and Peshawar, with over 240 committed Christians who worship Jesus in the most difficult of circumstances.

8 Goals for 2008
The Northwest Region of the Johannesburg Church of Christ is kicking off the year with an 8 day Daniel fast and putting before God these 8 goals for the year.
1. EVERY DISCIPLE RECOMMITS TO WHOLEHEARTED DEVOTION TO GOD:
1CO 15:58 ... Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.
From times of great distress to great rejoicing!
Siew Cheng became a christian in the early days of the Singapore church in 1989 when she was 32, and has been a faithful disciple since then, serving the church in many ways. In the recent 2 years, her mum suffered a serious spinal problem and at the same time, discovered a tumour in her brain. During the operation to remove the tumor, she had a heart attack that left her in a coma and the doctors were pessimistic about her recovery. The disciples fasted for her and asked of God to give her a chance to know Him. Her mum's miraculous recovery was quite a phenomenon to the doctors. Disciples started visiting her to pray with her though she wasn't ready to study the bible. She then had a fall that almost took her life away.
"Uncle Phua" 83 years old and born again in Christ!
For many years it has been a burden on the hearts of the younger Singapore disciples to find a way to reach out to their parents who are from a generation of Singaporeans that neither speak English nor Mandarin well enough to learn the Bible. Many of this older generation speak dialect languages and so they are not able to join the English ministry or the Mandarin speaking ministry.
